The vice chancellor of the Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti(BOUESTI), Professor Babatunde Omojola, Tuesday said 1,645 students of the institution will be conferred degrees at its second convocation ceremony Saturday.
The vice chancellor who stated this at a press conference held on the School Campus said 60 graduates bagged First Class Honours, 563 bagged Second Class Honours, 854 bagged Second Class Honours (Lower Division) and 168 bagged Third Class Honours.
He said: “These figures are not just statistics, they reflect our commitment to academic excellence, quality teaching and the resilience of our students.
“It is also instructive to note that since its establishment in 2020 and the first matriculation ceremony held in 2021 with a modest student population of 2,401, BOUESTI has witnessed a geometric increase in enrolment , which now stands at an impressive 22,994 students.
“This remarkable growth underscores the rising confidence in the University and Affirms its reputation as one of the fastest -growing state universities in Nigeria and Sub-Sahaean Africa,” Prof. Omojola stated.
He stated that he assumed office as the Second Substantive Vice-Chancellor of BOUESTI on the 6th of January 2026 and also added that more than 8,000 students of the university had keyed into the National Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) scheme.
