A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Benue State Dr. Mark Nyitse has said the Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, does not need to campaign before returning as governor of the state.
In a chat with journalists at his Makurdi residence, Dr. Nyitse explained that what the governor has achieved for the people of the state is speaking for him.
The university don noted that all the projects executed by the governor have direct bearing on the lives of the people.
He expressed confidence that Governor Alia would have smooth victory at the next gubernatorial elections.
The APC Chieftain enumerated projects like massive road construction across the state, construction of underpasses in Makurrdi and Gboko, procurement and distribution of fertilizer and other farm inputs to Benue farmers, intervention in the area of health, employment of over 9000 teachers and the establishment of University of Agriculture, Science and Technology Ihugh among others.
Dr. Nyitse told journalists that the Benue electorate were becoming more enlightened and would not want to miss a focused and committed leader, who has the interest of the people at heart.
“As far as politics in Benue is concerned, the people of Benue are increasingly becoming enlightened and cannot afford what is glaringly benefiting them”.
He called on other gubernatorial aspirants to collapse their interest and rally round Governor Alia, who he said was already doing what they intend to do for the people if they actually have the interest of the people at hearts.
According to him, what the governor has achieved in about three years is what others spent eight but could not achieve, insisting that the difference between Governor Alia and other past governors is clear, particularly as it relates to state development.
Dr. Nyitse argued that no right thinking Benue person would hesitate to cast his vote for a different person other than Governor Alia as he expressed the confidence that “Benue will be completely transformed if Alia spends eight years as Governor.”
