In a video shared by TVC, Akpabio said Tinubu knows the importance of democratic principles and governance. He explained that, in his own understanding, democracy is a system of government that operates through the parliament. He stated that without the parliament, there can be no democracy.
In Akpabio’s words: “Governor Abiodun I’m sure this invitation for me the Senate President to say a word here is not from you, it is from the president and commander-in-chief who knows the meaning of democracy. President Tinubu knows the meaning of democracy. Democracy in my own definition simply means a government through the parliament and without the parliament there is no democracy. So that is why Tinubu said as chairman of the National Assembly in Nigeria, being here and seeing what is going on I should say a word”
