The High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Nigeria, Mr. Miah Md. Kabir, Thursday paid a courtesy visit to the director-general of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Prof. Mojisola Christianah Adeyeye.
The envoy, who paid the visit call at the agency’s corporate headquarters in Abuja, stated that the visit aimed to explore areas of mutual collaboration between Nigeria and the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, particularly in expanding trade, fostering technological exchange, and strengthening the security of drugs and vaccines in both countries.
The high commissioner expressed Bangladesh’s readiness to partner with NAFDAC in advancing the pharmaceutical industry, as well as promoting trade and investment between the two nations.
He stated the strategic importance of Nigeria as a key partner and highlighted Bangladesh’s population of over 180 million people, noting the vast trade opportunities both countries stand to benefit from through strengthened bilateral relations.
In her response, the director-general of NAFDAC, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to ensuring the availability of safe, high-quality, and efficacious medicines in Nigeria.
