The Bureau of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs has officially launched its new website, marking a significant stride towards modernising governance and enhancing transparency in Benue State.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony held on Friday, the Permanent Secretary, Mr Terna Ayu, hailed the initiative as “a significant milestone by Rev. Fr. Dr Hyacinth Alia, to reposition the Bureau for greater efficiency, transparency and service delivery in line with modern governance practices.”
Mr Ayu explained that the platform would serve as a central hub for information dissemination, offering updates on policies, guidelines, and reforms, while strengthening communication between the Bureau, Local Government Councils, traditional institutions, and the public.
He emphasised that the launch reflects Governor Alia’s broader vision of digital transformation to strengthen grassroots governance.
The Bureau pledged to keep the platform dynamic, user-friendly, and regularly updated, positioning it as a vital tool for transparency and improved service delivery across the state.
Developed by Jayjaysol Global Concept Limited, the website features a modern interface, integrated publications system, and secure administrative dashboard.
Dr Fanen Upwa, Principal Partner of Jayjaysol, noted that the platform was built with robust security measures and scalable technology to ensure sustainability.
He added that the upgrades included enhanced internet infrastructure, an internal intercom system, and new computer systems to support daily operations.
Dr Joseph Nule, representing the Chief of Staff, who served as the chairman of the occasion highlighted that the Bureau’s newspaper, previously circulated within the state, would now gain international reach through the website.
Meanwhile, Ashi Wende, Executive Secretary of the Primary Healthcare Board, encouraged the Bureau to include a health section to promote activities in collaboration with international organisations.
She said the launch underscores Benue State’s commitment to embracing digital tools for governance, transparency, and service delivery at the grassroots level.
