Claressa Shields Fires Back After Viral Video Calls Her “Ugly”

Claressa Shields hopped online to clapback after a TikTok video criticizing her appearance went viral.

The boxing champion responded on social media after creator melaninhipsterr posted a clip claiming Shields suffers from what she called “Ugly Girl Syndrome.” In the video, the creator described it as a woman becoming overly submissive in relationships because she is supposedly unattractive.

“Y’all keep calling me ugly every single day on my page,” Shields fired back in a video shared online. “I am so tired of it. I am not ugly; I am beautiful. I am the baddest woman walking this earth.”

The 31-year-old boxer went on to list her accomplishments, including her Olympic medals and championship titles.

“I have two Olympic gold medals,” Shields continued. “I am the undisputed champion. I am the greatest of all time, the GWOAT.”

Shields also responded to critics who have commented on her personal life and relationship.

“I have a man that loves me. I have money. I have success. I have everything,” she said. “Y’all are mad because you can’t be me.”

“Get off my page if you think I’m ugly,” she went on. “I know who I am. I am Claressa Shields. I am beautiful inside and out.”

Fans of the boxer begged her to stop responding to all of the negativity online.
