The President General of the Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL), Comrade Goodluck Egwu Ibem, has announced the passing and burial arrangements of his grandmother, Late Nma Egere Egwu Ibem, who he described as a woman of strong values and lasting impact on her family and community.
In a statement issued on behalf of the family at the weekend, Comrade Ibem said the late matriarch lived a fulfilled life dedicated to service, unity, and the wellbeing of those around her.
He noted that her legacy of kindness, wisdom, and resilience would continue to inspire generations despite the void created by her passing.
According to the burial programme released by the family, a Service of Songs and Christian Wake Keep will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the family compound in Ebem community, Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia state.
The event is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
The main funeral activities will take place on Friday, April 10, 2026, beginning with a Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. at the Customary Court located on Prof. Eni Njoku Road, Ebem, Ohafia Local Government Area.
This will be followed by interment and a reception of guests at the same venue.
The family has extended an invitation to friends, associates, well-wishers, and members of the public to join them in paying their final respects and celebrating the life and legacy of the deceased.
Comrade Ibem also appealed for prayers and support for the family during this period of mourning, expressing confidence that the cherished memories and enduring values left behind by the late Nma Egere Egwu Ibem would remain a guiding light for future generations.
