Enugu government showers praises as NYA inaugurates South-east LG coordinators

The General Manger, Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA) Enugu state, Hon Monday Diamond Ani, has described the National Youth Alliance (NYA) as a pacesetter and leading light in promoting patriotism and good governance in Nigeria and Africa at large.

This was contained in a statement signed by Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, the special assistant media and publicity to the NYA President, Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbs, made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Thursday March 26, 2026.

According to the statement, he expressed this, when he served as guest speaker of the NYA leadership symposium and official inauguration of 95 Local Government Area (LGA) voordinators in South-east on Wednesday March 25 2026

“There are so many youth organisations in Nigeria. There are so many youth organisations in Enugu state and in the entire Africa, but I think the National Youth Alliance is one of them that is outstanding.

“I’m not saying this to eulogise anyone. I’ve been active in activism, from being the president of the Student Union Government to chairing the Council of Presidents in South East Nigeria, leading all the contracts in Nigeria in 2019 to 2020, also calling a press conference against the actual strike in Abuja. So we’ve seen it all but we do it in every sense of equilibrium and diplomacy because you can’t abuse a leader in the spirit of activism,” he said.

Speaking on the theme, “Birthing A New Nigeria: Youth and Women Inclusion In Politics and Governance”, he said that to lead is not easy.

“When you occupy the position of leadership, you will understand what leaders say. NYA President and his delegates were in my office yesterday. I received them in audience. We shared ideas. And while he was talking, he told me that when he arrived in Enugu, in the space of 10, 15, 20 minutes,
moving around the environment, he credit our governor to be the Millennium Governor of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he said.

Earlier in his welcome remarks, NYA President, Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbas, said Nigeria is blessed with youth that are hard working and creative.

He said if the potentials of youth are harnessed, Nigeria would be a force to reckon with the world over in all spheres of life.

Guest speaker, a Professor of Government and Public Administration, Jude Udenta, said that Nigeria stands at a crossroad, seeking to redefine its path towards sustainable development and democratic growth.

“The theme birthing a new Nigeria, youth and women inclusion, impulse and governance, underscores the imperative of integrating two critical democracies into the nation’s decision-making habits.

“Without the youth and the women in this country, Nigeria will continue the way it is going like a strain that has issues in its engine. And when the engine of a train is forced, the body is useless through a force,” he warned.

Chairman, Enugu State Council of Traditional Rulers, HRM Igwe Samuel Ikechukwu Asadu (Ogadagidi), in his admonition, stressed the need to add value to the youths in the country, in view of their importance to development.

He commended NYA youth President, Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbas, for coordinating youth across the nation for a decent gathering.

He further said there was need to invest in the youth because they are the treasures of the nation.
