Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, is currently holding a closed-door meeting with the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, in Ibadan as political tensions continue to rise in Oyo State.
The visit follows Fayose’s earlier claim alleging that Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, was planning to dethrone the monarch, as well as ongoing controversies surrounding an alleged impeachment plot in the Oyo State House of Assembly.
The development has also drawn attention due to suggestions linking the traditional institution to the political dispute.
Before entering the meeting, Fayose told journalists he was in Ibadan to “identify with the traditional institution,” adding that “the truth about the whole saga will soon be revealed.”
The meeting is being held behind closed doors, and details of the discussions have not yet been made public.
