Pupils of Amachara Agbaja Community Primary School in Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi state have received a major boost in their education pursuit, as the Adding Beauty to Life Foundation stepped in to improve their learning conditions.
The foundation distributed school uniforms, books, and desks to the pupils, many of whom had been learning under difficult conditions due to lack of basic materials.
A total of 145 indigent pupils benefited from the exercise, while 30 desks were donated to the school, which has about 268 pupils.
For the children, the support brings new hope and motivation to stay in school and learn better.
Founder of the foundation, Kessy Anigor, said the gesture was personal, as he once attended the same school.
“I sat where these children are today. I understand their struggles, and I want to help change their story,” he said.
He urged more individuals and groups to support education in rural areas, warning that neglecting it could affect the future.
“We all have a role to play in helping these children succeed,” he added.
The foundation also promised to continue supporting the pupils through teaching programmes and monitoring their progress.
Headmaster of the school, Nwaga Felix, described the intervention as timely, noting that the school has long faced shortages of learning materials.
He called on the government to support such efforts and improve conditions in rural schools.
