The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has promoted 98 senior officers to higher ranks, with 19 elevated to Assistant Corps Marshal (ACM), 55 to Corps Commander (CC), and 46 to Deputy Corps Commander (DCC), following approval by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
The service disclosed this in a statement signed by the Corps spokesperson Filicia Kalu in Abuja on Friday.
According to the statement, the promotion, which takes effect from 1 January 2026, underscores the federal government’s commitment to strengthening leadership within the Corps and rewarding diligence, professionalism and years of meritorious.
It said breakdown of the exercise shows that 19 officers were elevated to ACM, 55 Deputy Corps Commanders advanced to Corps Commander, while 46 Assistant Corps Commanders were promoted to Deputy Corps Commander.
It added that those elevated to the rank of Assistant Corps Marshal include A. Oki, N.S. Joseph, C.Z. Mathew, S.E. Dawulung, F.A. Ogidan, A.O. Ruka, A.O. Ugah, U.E. Oji, I.M. Bazzama, F.N. Theman, O.E. Joseph, R.E. Akpabio, U.B. Amaechi, A. Owolabi, Leye Adeboboye, M.O. Egbe, B.S. Akanji, F.O. Etta and K. Tsukwan.
The Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, congratulated the officers, describing the promotion as a reflection of the Corps’ commitment to excellence, discipline, and structured career progression. He urged the beneficiaries to justify the confidence reposed in them by demonstrating higher levels of dedication, leadership, and professionalism.
Mohammed further stressed that promotion in the FRSC is not merely a reward but a call to greater responsibility, charging the officers to deploy their experience toward reducing road traffic crashes and enhancing safety on Nigerian roads.
The Corps also directed that all promoted officers should not adorn their new ranks until they are formally decorated, in line with established procedures.
