Never mind saving the planet — they just wanted to rock on the boat.
Lefty activists reportedly got frisky on the so-called freedom flotilla meant to bring aid to Gaza — becoming the subject of a recent sex scandal.
And even the Swedish queen of sanctimony herself is rumored to have chosen to “seas” the day aboard the vessel.
Activist Greta Thunberg wasn’t aboard the flotilla that left Spain for Gaza last week, but she may have gotten hooked with her first mate on the floating den of iniquity.
Since returning from her second voyage to Gaza in October after a short stint in an Israeli prison she whined was bedbug-infested, Thunberg and Swedish photographer Chris Kebbon have been inseparable.
Just this week, they were pictured cozying up together on a couch, with Kebbon holding a dog draped with a keffiyeh around his neck and Thunberg flashing a blissful smile as she rested her head on his lanky arms.
Kebbon, 23, a long-haired Stockholm-based photographer for social and climate justice movements and former surfer dude, has been by Thunberg’s side for much of her activism.
He was part of the “Fridays for Future” climate school strikes Thunberg was focused on before she turned her attention to Gaza.
Romance rumors have swirled ever since he was pictured shirtless with Thunberg, 23, swimming off the coast of Sicily during last summer’s flotilla.
The normally angry-looking Thunberg, who rose to prominence by yelling “How dare you?” at world leaders during her 2019 UN climate address, appeared uncharacteristically relaxed during the swimming session.
“Last calm moments together before departure filled with love, care and silly moments,” Kebbon posted on Instagram in June, sharing a titanic-style photo of Thunberg posing in front of a Palestinian flag aboard the ship.
The buzz only grew when the activist pair exchanged a passionate hug when Thunberg landed at Stockholm airport, after she was deported from Israel.
Kebbon, who hails from the upper-class suburb of Liljeholmen in the Swedish capital, appears to also share Thunberg’s anger at the world, writing in his X bio: “usually pissed and like to complain.”
Despite the interest from the Swedish press, Thunberg has remained silent on the relationship status — as she has on the sexual misconduct allegations that have rocked the flotilla leadership in recent weeks.
She and Kebbon are noticeably absent from the mission this time, instead staying back in Europe as Thunberg works on a documentary project.
Thunberg stepped back from the flotilla leadership in September, frustrated they were bickering too much about internal affairs and not focusing enough on Gaza, and Kebbon last week shared an Instagram post critical of the mission.
Meanwhile, the flotilla leader at the center of the sex scandal, Brazilian ladies’ man Thiago Avila, spent the week taking to Instagram to defend the allegations involving him.
From the middle of the Mediterranean, he whined in an Instagram video he was being targeted for being a “revolutionary activist.”
“There are many ways to try to destroy a revolutionary activist,” he proclaimed Thursday.
“This is a fabricated allegation. The three people that they mention, they’re comrades,” he said of the three women he reportedly had sex with on the boat.
“You have no idea how many threats we received … This has been causing a lot of harm. Not only to me, but to my family.”
The flotilla has increasingly come under fire for its performative nature, with critics saying even the activists know the aid won’t reach Gaza.
Even the UN Special Rapporteur on Palestine, Francesca Albanese, issued a sharp criticism of the trip this week.
“Excuse me friends, but you have to be honest,” she said. “I hate this feeling of being the party pooper. But as a movement it needs to be effective. Look, I have nothing against being performative — it’s good to be performative. But performance on its own doesn’t suffice.”
“It really feels with badges, and pictures, and all this, it’s becoming more and more like the environment I’m used to being in, the United Nations.”
