Group rolls out women empowerment plan ahead national launch

A non-governmental organisation, New Dawn for Women and Community Intervention Initiative (NEWOMCII), Thursday rolled out a nationwide women and youth empowerment plan ahead of its formal unveiling in Abuja.

It said the objective is to tackle grassroots poverty and drive sustainable development across Nigeria, saying it saw the gap and made a decision to be part of the solution in complementing government efforts.

Speaking at a press conference, Founder and Chairman of NEWOMCII, Alhaji Bolaji Raji, said the initiative was born out of a pressing need to bridge critical gaps in access to opportunities for women and young people, particularly at the grassroots.

“The birth of NEWOMCII was inspired by a simple but powerful reality: across our communities, especially at the grassroots, many women and young people possess immense potential, yet lack access to the tools, opportunities, and support systems needed to succeed,” he said.
