Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company Plc (IBEDC) has announced the appointment of Mr. Deolu Ijose as its new managing director/Chief executive officer.
His appointment followed the recent reconstitution of the company’s board of directors.
Mr. Ijose succeeds Engr. Francis Agoha.
A statement on Thursday by the coordinating head corporate services, Angela Olanrewaju, made available to Blueprint.ng correspondent in Ilorin, stated that Mr Ijose, who previously served as managing director of Benin electricity distribution company (BEDC) and as chief commercial officer at IBEDC, “is bringing extensive industry experience to his new role”.
“His deep sector knowledge and familiarity with IBEDC’s operations position him to effectively lead the Company through its next phase of growth and transformation”, the statement added.
The statement stated further that the company’s while commenting on the appointment, expressed confidence in Mr. Ijose’s ability to consolidate on existing gains while driving improved performance across the business.
In his remarks, Mr. Ijose stated: “I am honoured to lead IBEDC at this critical time. We will build on the foundation already in place by prioritising operational efficiency, strengthening commercial discipline, and delivering improved service to our customers. Our success will be driven by teamwork, accountability, and a shared commitment to excellence.”
With the appointment, IBEDC reaffirmed its commitment to delivering improved electricity supply while deepening stakeholder collaboration, investing in infrastructure, and leveraging technology to improve customer experience.
The company said it’s “well-positioned to accelerate progress and deliver greater value to customers, stakeholders, and the Nigerian economy”.
