Jos attack: Court adjourns arraignment over absence of defence counsel 

The Plateau State High Court Thursday adjourned the arraignment of the five suspects arrested in connection with the Anguwan Rukuba attack that left about 30 people dead.

The Plateau state government filed the suit against the five suspects, four of whom were arrested by the operatives of State Security Services (SSS) while one of them is at large.

At Thursday’s proceedings, the four suspects Isa Umar Ibrahim, Auwalu Abubakar, Musa Abubakar Ibrahim and Adamu Isa Alhassan, were brought to High Court 9, presided over by Justice J. D Fomyil, but the accused had no legal representation, hence the court ordered that the matter be adjourned to the 30th of April, 2026.

“The defendants must be represented by a counsel before any plea can be validly entered,” Justice Fomyil ordered.

He adjourned the arraignment and ordered the remand of the four suspects in SSS custody.
