In a recent interview with Arise News, Othman Ngelzarma, the leader of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, urged everyone to stay calm after the recent surge of violence in Plateau State.Watch The Video Here
Addressing the tragic murders that occurred in parts of Jos and surrounding areas, Ngelzarma condemned the assaults and labeled them as intolerable. He expressed his condolences to the families who have experienced loss and called on security forces to increase their efforts in identifying and apprehending those behind the violence.
He emphasized that the association prioritizes peace during difficult times and reminded members to remain calm. He stated, “In situations like this, we always advise our members to show restraint and remain patient.”
Ngelzarma cautioned that seeking revenge and reacting emotionally could worsen the situation in the affected regions. He instead encouraged locals to follow the law and allow security forces to conduct their investigations without obstruction.
He also highlighted the need for collaboration between citizens and law enforcement, encouraging those with helpful information to step forward. He concluded by stating that community solidarity, regardless of religious or ethnic backgrounds, is crucial in tackling the ongoing violence.
