Kimora Lee Simmons’ Husband Files for Divorce Before Starting Prison Sentence!

Kimora Lee Simmons and Tim Leissner are ending their marriage after more than a decade together.

According to court documents, Leissner filed for divorce from the fashion mogul on April 20, after signing the paperwork on February 4, two days before reporting to prison to begin a two-year sentence. The former Goldman Sachs banker cited “irreconcilable differences” in the filing. He and Simmons, who married in March 2014, share an 11-year-old son, Wolfe.

Leissner is requesting joint legal and physical custody of Wolfe. He is also seeking spousal support from Simmons and asking the court to block her from receiving alimony. His attorney, Henry Mazurek, told Bloomberg that Leissner surrendered to a federal correctional facility in Pennsylvania on February 6. Prison records show he is scheduled for release on September 29, 2027.

Leissner pleaded guilty in 2018 for his role in the 1MDB scandal, which involved billions of dollars taken from a Malaysian state investment fund.

“First and foremost, I offer my sincere apology to the people of Malaysia,” Leissner said during sentencing last year, according to Reuters. “I deeply regret my actions.”

Kimora Lee Simmons has not publicly commented on the split or Leissner’s legal troubles.
