The Lagos State Taskforce has formally debunked a viral press statement alleging wrongful impoundment of a 250cc motorcycle belonging to a self-acclaimed human rights advocate.
The Agency clarified that no individual, regardless of their status or affiliation is exempted from the traffic laws of Lagos state.
According to Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment, Taskforce, Gbadeyan Abdulraheem, that the incident involved one-way and resistance contrary to misleading reports circulating online.
He said the motorcycle (Reg. No. DKA 510 QC) was impounded for driving against traffic (one-way) from Cement Bus Stop toward Ile Zik.

“The bribe was rejected, and the case was moved for court action,” Gbadeyan stated
The Agency highlighted the professional background of its Chairman, CSP Adetayo Akerele, a trained lawyer and seasoned officer, noting that his leadership is rooted in fairness and due process.
“Identifying as a human rights advocate does not grant immunity from traffic regulations,” stated Gbadeyan. “The judiciary, not public sentiment or misinformation, is the proper avenue for dispute resolution”
The Taskforce also addressed a recycled viral video from 2025 involving one Mr. Segun Olawoye, clarifying that the individual in that video was an impostor, not a Taskforce operative, and the matter had long been resolved. The Agency condemned the use of “expired” content to incite public sentiment.
