‘No one can foresee…’: Vladimir Putin issues CHILLING warning amid raging Iran war; Russian state TV describes West Asia conflict as World War 3, says ‘we’ll learn only…’

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday warned that the grave consequences of Iran war cannot be foreseen by anyone including those who perpetrated it, even as Russia’s state TV described the West Asia conflict as the third World War.

What did Vladimir Putin say?

Addressing delegates of the congress of the powerful Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP), Vladimir Putin said it is difficult to predict the consequences of the Middle East conflict, which is likely to have impact similar to the Covid-19 pandemic, which slowed down global economy and brought life to a halt.

“It’s still hard to predict the consequences of the conflict in the Middle East with any confidence. It seems to me that even those involved in the conflict are themselves unable to foresee them,” Putin said.

The Russian leader said the escalation of the conflict incited by the joint US-Israeli attack on Iran has jeopardised a wide range of industries, and there’s no telling what further consequences may follow.

“The armed conflict in the Middle East is increasingly impacting the current situation and causing significant disruption to international logistics, manufacturing, and supply chains,” he said.

‘Iran war impact comparable to Covid-19 pandemic’

Putin noted that entire sectors, specifically those tied to the extraction and processing of hydrocarbons, metals, production of fertilisers, and many other goods and product categories, have received a shock due to the Iran war, and effects of the conflict are comparable to slowdown witnessed during the pandemic.

“Let me remind you, the pandemic sharply slowed down the development of all regions and continents without exception,” Putin said, adding that Russia Russia will have to live in the current reality, and must remain strong and united to do so.

Russian TV describes Middle East conflict as World War 3

Meanwhile, Chanel-1 TV, Russia’s main public broadcaster, described the Middle East conflict as World War 3, asserting that people will only realize this when the war has ended, akin to the previous two world wars.

“We are in the middle of the third world war, and we will learn this only after it ends, like in the past,” the anchor said in Chanel-1 TV’s prime time talk show on Thursday.

“There have been 30 years, 100-year wars, Napoleonic wars in Europe; we learnt about them only when they ended. The Second World War in Europe started in 1939, but we learnt it only in May 1945,” the anchor said.
