Former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has donated ₦10 million to the Malikiya College of Nursing Sciences in Bauchi State as part of his continued support for healthcare and education development in Nigeria.
Obi disclosed this in a post shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, detailing his engagements during a recent visit to the state.
“Still in Bauchi State. As part of my itinerary in Bauchi state yesterday Thursday 23rd, 2026, after visiting, Madarasatu Intisharul Islam Qismu Tahfizul, Qur’an, Yelwa, I visited Malikiya College of Nursing Sciences, Bauchi,” he wrote.
The former Anambra State governor noted that the visit was a follow-up to an earlier intervention he made at the institution. According to him, a previous donation of ₦10 million was used to establish an ICT centre within the college.
“I had visited the institution in the past and donated 10 million naira which they used to set up their ICT computer centre, which I was impressed to see alongside their increased student intake,” Obi stated.
He added that he was encouraged by the progress made by the institution, particularly in expanding access to nursing education, prompting another financial contribution.
“During my visit, I donated another 10million naira,” he said.
Obi stressed the importance of investing in healthcare systems, describing it as a cornerstone for national development. “Health is critical for development and we must invest in the human infrastructure needed for that development,” he added.
Reiterating his vision for the country, he concluded with his signature message: “A new Nigeria is POssible.”
The visit forms part of Obi’s broader engagements across the country, where he continues to advocate for improved investment in critical sectors such as health, education, and human capital development.
