Peter Obi donates another N5m to Bauchi Islamic school, after previous donation

African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential aspirant, Peter Obi, has donated N5 million to support indigent students at an Islamic school in Bauchi state.

Obi disclosed this in a post on Thursday after visiting Madarasatu Intisharu Islam Qismu in Bauchi. He said the visit followed a meeting with Governor Bala Mohammed.

Obi said he had previously supported the school with N5 million for the provision of chairs and other items.

“Yesterday, Thursday 23rd April, after meeting with His Excellency the Governor Bala of Bauchi State, I proceeded to Madarasatu Intisharu Islam Qismu in Bauchi, where I had visited in the past and supported them with the sum of 5million naira to provide chairs and other items for the school,” he said.

He said he was impressed by the improvements recorded at the school and the enthusiasm of the students.

“On visiting yesterday, and seeing improvements that have been achieved and how enthusiastic the children are, I was glad and gave them another sum of 5million to support the scholarship of indigent students,” he said.

Obi emphasised the need for continued investment in education to secure the country’s future, saying: “We must invest in the lives of these children for our own future and for the progress of the country.”
