Shocking moment UK military vehicle flips and rolls on highway to avoid car that swerved in front

Shocking video shows a UK military Land Rover flipping onto its roof and rolling over several times after its driver desperately tried to avoid smashing into a car that swerved in front of him.  

The military vehicle was seen pulling a trailer down a two-lane highway in Northamptonshire when an Audi Q2 suddenly swerved in front to avoid missing an exit.

As the Audi drove off, the Land Rover Defender driver tried to switch lanes, but lost control, immediately flipping over and rolling several times.

Another military vehicle came to its aid as soon as the crashed Land Rover came to a stop.

Remarkably, no one was killed in the Jan. 10 crash that Northamptonshire Police Detective Constable Eleanor Hudson described as “completely avoidable.”

The Land Rover driver, 36, suffered a suspected back fracture, while a male passenger, 31, was also hospitalized with a “significant” head injury. 

The driver of the Audi, Crenguta Aruxandei, 44, pleaded guilty to two careless driving offenses and was sentenced to six months in jail, suspended for 18 months, the UK equivalent to probation.
