Technology not promises will shape Nigeria’s future – Pantami 

Former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Ali Pantami, Monday said Nigeria’s path to solving its pressing challenges lies in the effective deployment of digital technology, particularly artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.

Pantami spoke while reflecting on projects executed during his time in office and highlighted their impact on Gombe state and the country at large.

The world has entered the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, where digital innovation is redefining governance, security, education, and economic growth.

“The time has changed. We are now in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which is driven by digital technology, especially artificial intelligence,” he said.

He added that the legacy projects initiated under his leadership were designed to equip young Nigerians with the tools needed to thrive in a technology-driven global economy.

Pantami stated that despite Nigeria’s numerous challenges, technology offers practical solutions if supported by the right policies, infrastructure, and political will.

“There is a solution to every challenge we face in Nigeria through technology. With the right policies, power supply, and strategy, there is no problem we cannot overcome,” he added.

The former minister pointed to several technology-driven initiatives implemented across states, including digital centers aimed at improving education, enhancing security surveillance, and boosting economic opportunities.

He cited the establishment of a digital monitoring center in Gombe, which, according to him, enables security agencies to track activities in real time without physical presence.
