In response to the directive by President Bola Tinubu that all political appointees with political ambition ahead of the 2027 elections to resign by March 31, 2026, the Senior Special Assistant on Citizenship and Leadership, Nasir Bala Aminu (a.k.a. Ja’oji), has resigned his appointment.
This was disclosed to newsmen in Kano by his spokesperson, Abba Anwar, on Saturday.
In the letter, Aminu thanked the president for giving him the opportunity to serve his motherland, Nigeria.
He emphasised that his choice was informed by the president’s concern for Nigerian youth and the confidence he reposed in them.
He pledged readiness to serve the country, adding that “Tinubu’s keen interest in the development of Nigerian youth is one of the cardinal principles of his administration, which serves as a morale booster to all ages.”
While appreciating the administration’s Renewed Hope Initiative as a driving force, he said many of the good policies and programmes of the administration would bear more fruits if Tinubu got a second tenure.
