Body camera footage released by the Gwinnett County Police Department shows the arrest of King Harris after officers say he was driving his Tesla Cybertruck at nearly 70 mph in a 45 mph zone.
The April 12 traffic stop happened near Holcomb Bridge Road and Peachtree Corners Circle in Peachtree Corners. According to the cops, the Cybertruck, which was wrapped in camouflage, was moving so fast that an officer said he had to reach 80 mph to catch up.
In the footage, an officer tells Harris, “You were absolutely flying down the road.”
After the vehicle was stopped, police said they spotted a handgun resting on the dashboard and an open THC container in the center console before officers ordered Harris out of the truck.
The footage shows Harris refusing several times before officers warned that he could be arrested for obstruction if he did not comply.
“You’re under arrest if you don’t step out,” one officer says in the video.
Police said Harris eventually exited the Cybertruck after speaking with his attorney by phone.
During the booking process, authorities say they discovered what appeared to be an oxycodone pill on Harris.
Harris was later charged with obstruction, speeding, and possession of a controlled substance. The video also shows officers speaking with his father, T.I., following the arrest.
