The Zamfara State Police Command has rescued a family man, his wife and six children kidnapped at their residence in Damba area of Gusau metropolis.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Yazid Abubakar, stated this in Gusau, Thursday.
He said the victim, Muhammad Lawal, located at Nasarawa in Damba district, Gusau local government area, was abducted along with his wife and six of his children on 25th March, 2026 at about 2250hrs, by a group of armed men suspected to be bandits.
“Upon receipt of the report, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) promptly mobilized a patrol team to the scene,” the PRO said.
The police image maker added that the team of police engaged the bandits in a fierce gun duel before they were forced to abandon the victims and flee.
Abubakar stated that all the victims were successfully rescued unhurt and were safely reunited with their family.
The command reiterated its commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
He urged members of the public to continue providing timely and useful information to security agencies of any strange movement for prompt response.
