A Kogi-born student, Ololade Josephine Moribirin, has emerged as a stand-out graduate of the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) Kaduna, earning First-Class in Communication Engineering of the highly classified institute.
Ololade, who studied in the Faculty of Ground and Communication Engineering, Department of Information and Communication Engineering, graduated with an impressive Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.57, placing her among the top-performing students in her department.
At her convocation ceremony, she was celebrated not only for her academic excellence but also for her dedication, resilience, and commitment to innovation in the field of communication engineering, a discipline critical to Nigeria’s technological advancement.
Speaking on her achievement, Ololade expressed gratitude to her family, mentors, and lecturers for their unwavering support throughout her academic journey.
She noted that her time at AFIT was both challenging and rewarding, shaping her into a disciplined and solution-driven engineer.
Asked to project her expectations for the future, Ololade said she now looks forward to advancing her career in the field of information and communication engineering, with aspirations to contribute to cutting-edge solutions in Nigeria and beyond.
Pouring encomiums on Ololade, her father, Ambassador Ademola Moribirin, who graced the graduation in company of his wife, Mary, described Ololade as level-headed and hardworking.
“I am very proud of her. In fact, I’m not surprised that she came tops in her academics because she has been a serious girl; very hard-working.
“I think her success story stands as an inspiration to young Nigerians, particularly students from Kogi state, demonstrating that with focus and determination, excellence is achievable regardless of background,” he said.
