‘Our fingers are on trigger…’: Yemen’s Houthis issue BIG warning, say they are ready to join US-Israel war against Iran; how it could change dynamics of the conflict

Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthi movement has warned that it may intervene militarily if the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran widens further. The group said it is closely monitoring developments and is ready to act if more countries join the war against Iran or if the Red Sea is used to launch attacks on the Islamic Republic.

In a televised speech on Friday, Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree said the group’s forces were ready for direct intervention if the situation escalates further. “We confirm that our fingers are on the trigger for direct military intervention,” Saree said. He added that the Houthis would act if new alliances join Washington and Israel against Iran and its allies.

Threat over Red Sea operations

Saree also warned that the Houthis would not allow the Red Sea to be used for what he described as “hostile operations” against Iran or any Muslim country. Yemen’s strategic location along the Red Sea gives the Houthis the ability to target international shipping routes and military activity in the region.

The warning has raised concerns that the conflict could expand into a wider regional confrontation. The Houthis have previously demonstrated their ability to launch missiles and drones at long distances and disrupt shipping lanes around the Arabian Peninsula.

The group also warned against any further tightening of what it called the blockade on Yemen. Saree urged the United States and Israel to immediately stop attacks on Iran and countries aligned with it, including Palestinian territories, Lebanon and Iraq. He also called for the implementation of the Gaza ceasefire agreement.
