United States (US) Navy has intercepted and seized an Iranian-flagged cargo ship attempting to get past its blockade of Iran’s ports.
The ship was given “fair warning to stop” in the Gulf of Oman but refused, so the navy “stopped them right in their tracks by blowing a hole in the engine room”, Trump said, adding the ship is in US “custody”
The operation marks the first ship boarding by U.S. forces since the naval blockade took effect Monday, as part of Trump’s effort to exert pressure on Tehran.
